Abstract:

This study aims at analyzing the level of stress in students doing their post-graduation in management field. The

research also aims to find out major stressors for students and its impact on physical and mental wellbeing of them.

Moreover, the study intended to identify whether students use adaptive or mal-adaptive coping mechanism to deal

with stress. A structured questionnaire is built up to collect data from students and the association of stress with

other dependent variables is tested by using SPSS software and applying t – test (two tailed). The results show that

majority of the students fell stressed, mainly those who are the immigrants in the city as they live away from home.

The study further reveals that Academic and Family expectations are the major stressors for students. Stress also

has positive impact on students as majority responded that they feel more focused while witnessing moderate level

of stress. Although students also responded that they use mal adaptive coping mechanism like starving, smoking,

etc. while under stress.
