An Analysis of the Determinants of Equity Share Prices with special focus on FMCG Companies

Abstract:

The present research has undertaken to examine the empirical relationship between equity share prices and fundamental variables such as: Book Value Per Share, Dividend Per Share, Earning Per Share, Price to Earnings Ratio and Dividend Yield along with Macro Economic variables such as: GDP, Inflation, Interest Rate and Exchange Rate. In this study, Analytical Approach is used along with the secondary data of NIFTY FMCG Sector of 15 companies. The data used for the analysis are relating for the period of ten years from 2009-2019. A multiple regression and correlation models are used to measure the effects of independent variables on the dependent variable. For data analysis, statistical techniques are employed and to get the precision of the results the Excel software is used. The data analysis and interpretation part shows the calculation of significant relationship between dependent variable and independent variables.
