Assessing Social Media Influencers Marketing on Selected Smartphone Brands

Abstract:

The aim of the study is to analyze social media influencer marketing practices for selected smartphone brands. Social media influencer marketing is the best channel for smartphone industries to market their products and to gain their brand equity.  Secondary data collection method was used for research. The study shows that social media influencers’ success does not rely solely on their follower count, but their ability to influence followers. Moreover, Instagram has highest popularity for influencer marketing in India compare to other social media platforms because of its user-friendly interface and features like stories and hashtags. Social media influencer marketing practices are the most preferred channel used by major smartphone brands in India. On the other side, it is very important to choose appropriate influencers who have strong content and engagement with their followers. Brands also need to provide some freedom on their creativity and presence of mind.
