Factors Affecting Gold Prices: An Empirical Investigation In The Indian Context

Abstract:

The present paper attempts to investigate the existence of causal relationship between gold prices in India and different other orldwide variables versus, Foreign Exchange Reserves(Forex Reserves), Exchange rate (USD) and Crude oil price, nifty & SENSEX. With the end goal of study month to month time series information of abovementioned variables have been studied covering the period of ten years . So as to examine relationship among these variables’ descriptive statistics ,correlation ,multiple regression, ADF test and Granger Causality test have been employed utilizing E-Views and SPSS. The results suggest since quite a while ago run integration between these variables further it was discovered that all abovementioned worldwide elements don't Granger Cause.
